Happiness @Work: Act 9
You made up your mind very quickly of people all the time. Think about what you tend to see and say to yourself when you meet somebody.
- Do you notice the eagerness of your kid voice, telling you about what happen in school, or do you see that your kid is back with dirty clothing and uncompleted home works?
- Do you try to ?gure out the “importance” of a person you meet following a meeting, assess his relationships with your boss, or do you the person genuine smile and good nature?
- Does your see everything that is not right at a reception or do you acknowledge the effort of your hostess in welcoming you?
Do you tend to focus on the negative and what is “wrong,” or do you see “lesson and experience” and what is “right”?
In most situation all of us tend to do both but focusing too much on what is “wrong” will not improve our life.
Think of a person whom you do not particularly like. Look for two traits about the person which you feel are admirable. Compliment with sincerity on these traits (or don’t do it if you cannot be sincere). Repeat this with several similar people that you often come in contact with.
In the next few weeks, notice what happens to your life and your relationships with people.
